Andy,

Consider installing 30amp relays in the head light for the low and high
beam wires. I did this and it takes the current load off the switch.
Much safer and efficient imho. I replaced the electrical switches on
both sides of the bars with an after market one that had everything in
one control. Not authentic, but it works reliably now and really safer.
It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb so I like it. The switch cost
about $45 and has horn, hi/lo, turn signals, on/off for lights, hi-beam
flash for passing.
