Hi Guys,

Just got my LAPD Eldo running and I need some help. When I first started it,
it sounded OK, but soon it started running terrible. Backfiring, sputtering,
wouldn't rev, etc. I checked the points and they looked bad. I had cleaned
them before installing. Lots of metal transfer, etc. So I cleaned them
again, put them back in and it ran better, but still not right. Question: I
am using some generic coil I had kicking around. I recall some coils had a
built-in resistor to limit voltage to the points. Could the wrong coil be
the culprit? Any other points (pardon the pun) to help me make this thing
run right would appreciated.

Don
