Ray,
One other trick I'd recommend is to polish the inside of
the splitter housing. When I first got Junkyard together there was so
much friction in the throttle that the cable end spread out the clip in
the throttle & the cable popped loose. I attached some 320 grit
sandpaper to a drill bit with a piece of tape and spun it up inside the
splitter housing, like you would do if honing a cylinder. Got it all
shiney & smooth. Now the throttle works real smooth & o problems with
the cable popping out - made a big difference.

Hope this helps,

Thanks to all who replied on the throttle question. Don't you love it
when the real world evidence seems to lead you down the path you wanted
to go on? Ahhh...
I found a set of light weight throttle springs that I'll try, also. All
that combined with the RAM clutch might be the ticket.

another thing about the splitter - clean it extra well, and lube with
white lithium - it can really hang up and stop your slides from snapping

all the way down. but once it's done it stays pretty clean..

Hi Ray,
I chose a Super Practic over the Tomaselli for my project and have been
using the original on the '69. Bought a couple of NOS ones when I had
the chance, I too admire the design. Most use the Tomaselli to ease the
throttle effort - if the throttle, cables and splitter are all lubed
well with the Super Practic, the effort is nearly the same (from my
experimentation anyway). The Tomaselli is a slightly "quicker" throttle
though, requiring less twist for more go. I just don't care to have two
throttle cables - would seem to me the shorter cables from the splitter
to the carbs would leave less room for stretch and incorrect
synchronization. Just my $.02 worth. Charlie.

 Hi,
I have a beautiful Super Practica B throttle for the Eldo. Excellent
condition. It is as amazing a piece of art deco mechanism as the gas
cap. I would really like to use it. I've seen and read so many
indications that the Tomaselli's a better throttle that I'm
wondering...do some of you run the Super Practica with success? I'm not
unfamiliar or afraid of the adjustments involved. Just wondering.
