It is conceivable that there is a cheap way out by replacing only that ring.
I may have a used one if you want. The bike will run. Most likely very
poorly at that. Meaning you could have compression problems which may be
minor or it could burn oil or pump oil out and run and idle irratically.
But it will run if that is your ONLY problem. Then anymore scrapings coming
off the cylinder walls will permeate the rest of the motor.

Ah yes the cheap way out. I am 3 yrs into an Eldo AND a brand new bikes
cost into the project. That is why when I see someone seeing a completed
project bike 2 yrs old for 6K I think it is a great deal.

If you can afford it, you might as well do it right the first time

The top ring on one of my pistons is half fused into the piston. I can
pry it out but does this mean that piston has to be replaced or can i
just get new rings. From what i read on other posts it sounds like the
best way to go is to get all new cylinders and pistons as replacing the
pistons is almost the same price. Does this sould right?
