Hi Ted,

I just double-checked my Eldo workshop manual and here are the figures
it provides:

Total: 0.360 liters (12.7 oz USA)
--- of which ---
0.340 liters (11.4 oz USA) of gear oil
0.020 liters (0.67 oz USA) of moly

The Italian math is slighty off when the conversions are added up...in
ounces (USA) it really should be:

Total: 0.360 liters (12.17305 oz USA)
--- of which ---
0.340 liters (11.49677 oz USA) of gear oil
0.020 liters (0.6762805 oz USA) of moly

I've not compared this to any Eldo level plug (correctly or incorrectly
placed). I'll let you worry about how to measure .0000001 ounces
precisely ;>

I just looked at Patrick's advice saying to add 230cc's of oil and 20
cc's
of moly to my rear drive. That is about 8.5 fluid ounces total.

Greg Benders site

says the Eldorado rear drive should have 12 oz. of oil.

Which is correct?

Ted

It is neither. It is supposed to be a level plug, but they are
notoriously inaccurate. I don't ever remove it. Drain the liquid from
the sump bottom. Add new fluid through the top plug to a specified
volume using a nice measuiring cylinder. 230cc gear oil, 20cc moly.
