The motor is no good, pack the whole bike in a crate and ship it to me. :) I
wouldn't worry about it. Who knows how much wine those crazy Italians drank
when they wrote the book and built our beloved bikes. I say trust no one but
yourself.

I successfully installed the oil pressure gauge this evening and went
for a 25 minute ride to see what would happen when the oil warmed up
fully. Here is what I found:
When just started, the pressure was easily between 55 and 60 PSI. As I left
the house and started riding, I reved it a bit in 2nd and 3rd
and the pressure went up to as high as 67 - but only briefly. When fully
warmed, I had three observations: 1. At idle the pressure would read 17 PSI.
2. Taking it very easy and just looping along resulted in 50 PSI. 3. Reving
it fairly high (but not super tight) in 2nd or 3rd resulted in
60 PSI.
The book states that the pressure should be between 54 - 60 PSI. My
engine has around 90-95 thousand miles on it and I do not know the
complete history. Do I need to worry about these numbers or am I fine
right now? FYI, this was with 20W-50 weight motor oil.
