I pulled the cap off one of the rod bearings and found what I would
consider a above average amount of wear for a motor with 32,000? miles,
although not to the point of needing replacement. As I have found no
chrome other than in the pan and a very small amount there, I have opted
to do nothing with the bottom end until this winter.

I finally dropped the oil pan and found small particle of
chrome, DAMN!! Pulled the cyliders, left had a very small area
about the size of a dime missing chrome, the right side had about
1/2" missing for about 3/4 of the way around the cylinder. I
ordered all parts

Yikes!!!!

How's the front and rear main bearings?
How'd the oil pump look?
How about the cam saddles?

Been there, done that, got the scared parts to prove it.
