Bill,

Ian Adkins started way back when documenting the numbers from Loops he came
across for historical purposes only. I have been keeping a close eye on eBay
and keeping the list updated as I can which I then forward to Ian to check
against his before he sends it to Mike to list on his website. According to
the VIN supplied by Hans his falls in-between July and October on the list.
But now Hans said the plate shows January so this makes things confusing. A
January VIN should be roughly in the 57XXX range. I guess if you were lucky
enough to know the original owner of the bike, you could find out where he
bought it and maybe that shop would still have some records of when they
brought it over the great pond. So far on the list there are 307 Loops
documented from the earliest V700 to the last batch of Eldorados of which
Charlie has the youngest. Most everyone on the list have provided their
numbers, but it's not a mandatory thing. It at least gives us a good idea of
just how many Loops still survive today.

Paul,

How do you know that Hans bike was made between "July-August of 73"
?!?!? Is there somewhere one can find find out all the specifics of your
bike, such as date of manufacture, where and when it came into the United
States? Once I sent an e-mail to Moto Guzzi asking for just such
information and never received a reply........I figured that the guy reading
the e-mail in Italy just didn't read English!
