Hi Joe,

I think this is a great topic to start. I know that I would really enjoy

learning about performance enhancements.

I have found that the quality of the fuel is a major factor. I owned an
Ambo, and then bought one of the early Eldos, in '72. I could not run
straight up against Nortons of the day, but the Eldo motor had a lot of
grunt. It would lift the front wheel hitting 2nd gear, and as for your
top end, it would easily hit 75 coming uip a freeway ramp, in 3rd gear.
Hauling a passenger and camping gear was a breeze. I remember pulling
trhe Grapevine into LA at 80-85 without problem, while scores of cars
pulled over from overheating. As for the Nortons......skill and
skullduggery kept me ahead of them.....

My current Ambo runs poorly here in Las Vegas, due to the additives in
the gas. when I go down to Arizona and fill up, it is like getting
amajor tune-up - the old girl runs really strong.
