Subject: Original finish on linkage and kickstand?

Does anyone know what the original finish (Black '74 Eldo
Police - single disk) was on the

1. straight linkage arm going back from the left gear
shift lever
2. the straight linkage arm going back from the right
brake lever
3. the kickstand itself

I had to knock the paint/rust off of all of mine, and the
paint on the parts looked, shall we say, hastily done with
a spray can.
