Hans,
I don't have a lot of experience with other tires on loops, but after polling the list I opted for the S11's (price was an object), and have been pleased with them. The Ambo came with Pirelli's on it, I like them but not that much better and a lot more expensive. I'm running 110/90's front and rear, no complaints.

I have been through the archives looking for a recommendation and found
quite a few posts from a few years back. What is the current consensus
for the best all-around tire? For me, performance is more important than
price, because as they say: "all that keeps you on the road are 2 little
patches of rubber". The posts in the archives talk a lot about
Bridgestone BT45 and BS11. Are these still current? Who has experienced
these recently? If one is running the same size front and back, is one
of the tires mounted backwards?

Thanks for the input.
