I seem to recall you do have to remove the "shaft" that
holds the brake actuating lever(s), right? Ted - I agree,
your method will work so long as those bolts are not too
tight. It is really easy to bust off a pin/allen wrench in
there. :)

You know I never thought about the fact that I could
leave the wheel attached. Thats a good timesaving tip
right there.

As for the swingarm bolts that require a special tool...
I put in two halves of an allen wrench (or two allen
wrenches I guess) that just fit into the holes and then
straddle them with a big adjustable wrench and it works
fine.
