I bought the swingarm tool from MG with my other parts orders today.
Having never removed a swingarm, can someone explain to me how this is
done? I like the idea that I do not have to remove the rear wheel, but
how does the swingarm come out of the bike to get that boot on? Do I
unbolt the wheel, undo the swingarm bolts, and slide it out somehow? I
gather the U-joint and driveshaft must somehow be removed to get it off
and get the boot on? I ordered a new O-ring seal and 2 square seals
where the driveshaft mates to the rear drive and plan to replace those
also. Is there anything else I should check along the way to see why
the oil may be migrating to the boot?

Thats a good timesaving tip right there. As for the swingarm bolts that require a special tool... I put in two halves of an allen wrench (or two allen wrenches I guess) that just fit into the holes and then straddle them with a big adjustable wrench and it works fine. Ted Ward Greg Field wrote:
