No. I'm referring to the space between the rocker arm and the tip of
the valve stem. Called valve lash or vavle gap sometimes. There is a
specific dimension for you motor. Learn how to adjust the valves
correctly. If hte motor has been apart, it will need head torque at 500
and 1000 miles. When you torque it, you will seriously change the valve
settings, so they must be re-adjusted after you torque.

A classic symptom of too small a valve gap is refusal to idle properly.
