My 2nd question has to do with center stand technique. For the life of
me, I acannot get the bike up on its center stand. I am not a wimp, but
my Eldo wont budge. The stand does not seem bent and all the tabs seem
to be there.

This is a classic problem. Use the side lever to push the centerstand
to the ground. Now, ignore the side lever and reach your toe under to
the tip of the stand's ground foot. It can be a little tricky to do
this without the stand rising back up. Press down on the very end tip
of the stand's ground foot while you are also lifting and pulling aft.
It is done more with foot work than with arm work. It should pop right up.

However, if someone has used shorter than original shock absorbers, it
will be more difficult because more lifting is involved.
