Ted, Damn, the only way all that could have been worse is if it was night
time! Your story reminds me that it is a good idea to keep fuses and other
parts and tools on the bike, always come in handy. Bob Hawkes

Man, I just rode about 3 miles to Taco Hell for lunch. On the way the
bike suddenly wanted to die, sounded like a fouled plug after I pulled
over it kind of "woke up" so I rode on. About a mile down the road
something felt weird and I noticed after that when I put the bike in
neutral the neutral light didn't come on but the generator light DID
come on and the tach completely died. This continued for a mile or so.
When I came out of Taco Bell I turned on the key and had nothing. I
opened the front and found a blown fuse which I replaced. Still nothing
so I wiggled some wires and suddenly started cranking. Neutral light
working and all. So I rode about a half mile and it died (forgot to turn
the gas on) pulled over got the gas flowing and rode about halfway back
and one side quit on me again. So I limped in and right before I parked
the bike the "fouled plug" started working again. Plus it looks like its
about to start raining.
