Hi Greg,
My brackets are aluminum, but are only approx. 1" square. I've been
kinda' checking them after each ride for just the reason you mention.
Been carrying a pair of vinyl-covered metal clamps to fit around the
crashbars in an emergency if they do fail. My Hellas came with the usual
multiple layer "leaf-spring" brackets, these bolt up to my homemade jobs
- did the Fiamms come with them? I've seen the "snail type" horns in
that location with the leaf-spring mounts without problems. Cheers,

FYI: I purchased a pair of high and low tone FIAMM horns (the kind that look like a snail). I made a simple straight bracket about 2 1/2" long out of 1" wide aluminum (1/8" thick) so that I could mount them just below the top crash front crash bar mount using the standard 8mm bolt. The engine vibration was too much for the aluminum and one of my brackets broke in half right where the bolt went through it. Looks like I'll need to use regular mild steel or stainless. Charlie, did you use stainless for your brackets on Sophia?
