Ted,
It's just a hole thru the plunger inside. No special release valve or
anything that fancy. Just a plunger, spring and the outside vent plug
for
attaching a hose to.

Does the 5 speed transmission breather plug have some sort of mechanism
in it to prevent oil from just puking out all the time? Mine appeared to
be gunked up so I shot some air through it and something flew out never
to be seen again.
