Hi Scott,

A similar question was just asked over at the Australian news group...

So this *hopefully* answers the question about what to use since it is
only for lubrication.

As for amount...I show 5.4 oz per leg, but that is for the non-disc
brake forks. V7 Sport and 850T call for 1.8 oz per leg. Sorry I can't
give you a definitive answer here - and Guzziology is no help, either.

Yes it has cartriges but my manual calls for oil for lubrication
purposes I guess.

Shows the cartriges and assemblby, then speaks of not forgetting to
install the proper amount...which I cannot find but Im sure its under a
diff. bike since this front end came on later models.

Any help appreciated.

Scott, isn't the disk brake fork the only one using cartridges instead
of oil dampening?

Finally finished finishing the basement and can get back to the
eldo....Put new progressive springs and dampners in the forks. What is
the correct wt. and capacity of oil for disk front end. One book calls
for not forgetting to put the "correct amount" of oil in them. ANother
calls for different amounts depending on the bike, Lemanns, 850t etc.

Im tired of sorting thru 3 or 4 diff. books on this bastard front end.

Just the facts please! ie. amount, wt. type. 1974 Eldo. LAPD disk

Thanks

Scotty
