After my return trip from the National, I wrote a little review of
Mark's police solo seat. For comparitive purposes, I thought I'd provide
a little contrast...

SEAT MILES RIDDEN TIME IN SADDLE
Mark's solo 1050 19 hours, 20 minutes
Quota stock 877 15 hours

After 450 miles in the Quota saddle yesterday, I found that I was
feeling a little sore, but not too bad. After 600 miles, it took
considerable effort to get off the bike. At 750 miles, it was down-right
painful. When I finally pulled into the garage last night at 877 miles,
I could barely move. I literally sat in the saddle for a moment, taking
off gloves and helmet, before I could muster the gumption needed to
endure the pain for the dismount. Today, my gluteus is sore to the
maximus.

In contrast, you may recall that my only complaint after my 1,050 mile
ride on Mark's seat was that the arches of my feet ached from the foot
pegs.

The trip yesterday certainly put the differences in perspective for me.
As Greg Field is fond of saying:

"Sad to think that Guzzi peaked in 1973, but it's true."
