Gasket on the starter? Really? Mine never had one, I didn't know it was supposed to. Maybe part of the reason I have had my starter rebuilt twice already?
The gasket is NOT on the starter per se. The gasket we are disussing is on the back end of the BOSCH solenoid. The solenoid body is metal. The contacts are retained in a plastic cap at the rear of the solenoid. The gasket resides between the plastic cap and the solenoid body.
