Hi Greg,

I *think* the best replacement would be to use Schnoor washers (MG has
'em). I'd stay away from the split-spring washers as they have a
tendency spread-apart sometimes.

 Hi All,
I finally got back to rebuilding my piston/head with the dropped valve,
and made an interesting discovery. The Premeier Book shows two little
flat metal tabs that are supposed to go between the connecting rod nuts
and the rod cap. After torqueing, the tab is bent up to secure the nut
from backing off and falling in the oil pan.Mine are missing on both rod
caps.Does any one know a substitute, or an alternate for these tabs, or
is this an MG Cycle part? Also, I don't ever remember seeing these on my
engine before.I also wonder if the spring lock washers would suffice, as
in the Head nuts that hold the rocker arm assy. Greg '74 Police
