I am currently attempting to raise a 70 Ambo to life. Have everything
stripped, rweady to paint, excepy I cannot remove the exhaust nuts to
take the pipes and engine and guards off. They are the older brass
plated nuts and I have never seen one stick like this. Tried penetrating
oil, heat, talking nice to it, cussing at it, and tried to humiliate
them by telling them my German bikes never gave me grief like this.
Nothing seems to work, they just won't give.

Maybe I am not heating them up enough? I would thing being brass they
would expand faster than steel, but these things are quite comfortable
where they are and I do not desire to break them or strip the threads.
How hot can I get these things without causing damage to the nuts or
heads?

Any hints will be appreciated on these things.

Keith
