Hi Tom, It's not pristine, but was properly stored, although for a long
time. Since I would replace the jugs and pistons on an Eldo that has sat
that long the stuck piston doesn't bother me. I am attracted to the bike
because it is so original and complete. But it would cost quite a bit to
retore it to a high level. I will try to get it down to 2k but I think he
will hold out for 2.5. Thanks Dave

There aren't many out there. If everything else looks great it may be
worth haggling. BUT if everything is marginal or worn out walk away. You
can buy them complete for 4-5K if you are patient.
When was the last time it ran?
How did the piston get stuck?
Is the paint pristine?
Has it been sitting outside?

Here is a rough breakdown of replacement costs:
Pistons, rings jugs, gasket, head work $900-1000
tires 200+
cables? 25 each
driveshaft knuckle? 100 rebuilt 200 new
battery?
front end work? 100-200
rear shocks? 100+
mufflers? 100-400
headers? 150

I just joined the Loopframe list. I currently have a 1973 V7 Sport, but
am
circling an Eldo at this time and anticipate needing a bit of advice as
I
move forward. It has 25k miles, front disc, but needs some work to put
in
on the road. Heads are off with a stuck piston. I would put a set of
Gilardonis on it if I bought it. It would be a fairly straightforward
resto, because it is very complete. I am arguing price. He wants 3k
which
seems a bit high to me. I hope we come to an agreement, because I think
the
Eldo is an great bike and would love to take on the project. Dave
