I have been lurking on this list for some time and have learned a lot from others' posts and enjoyed the pictures and made a few comments and it's time I got down to business.
I have wanted a loop since my dad bought a new Eldo in 1973 in Michigan. I am now retired and living in western Arkansas and have a 1974 LAPD Eldo that my sister found for me in California. The bike shows 10,800 miles and a few parts were missing. Bike has not run for years but the engine turns very freely with the plugs out. I plan to pull the heads and check the cylinders before I try to fire it.
The question today is about the clutch lever. The mounting bracket, or perch, is on the bike but the clutch and choke levers are missing. I bought a clutch lever and perch on eBay a while ago thinking that all loop clutch levers are the same but when the parts arrived the perch is shorter than the one on the bike. The lever is also different and will not fit the perch on my bike. Is the part that I need different for the LAPD model?
