Yanked the head and cylinder off the left side, (thanks to Greg's great
instructions!), and here is what i found. Chrome is completely flawless
with exception to about 3/4 inch of shadowing, or duller chrome on the
bottom of the cylinder wall. And about 1/8 inch on the top part. Piston
is grubbed up on top, valves are black as Hades too, and the rings have
some goop on them, but loose. None of them are bound. Now, how long will
the chrome last if it is not peeling, but has some shadow on it? And
should I bother yanking the other side, or is this fairly indicative of
both cylinders?

Any info appreciated. As Paul told me once or twice...I am hooked now on
these old girls. Something tells me this won't be my last Guzzi...man I
love this board! Don't say anything to the Beemer Boys, but this group
beats them hands down for help and courtesy!
