The cup on the end of the chain is what I was referring to.

I ordered the 2 long cables that come from the handlebar controls for
the throttle and choke. Then the 2 short ones that come from the
splitter and go to the choke and throttle on the carbs. They were just
cables. I would think that there would be another adjustment other than
the splitter end where the cable goes into the "H" contraption, but
there seems like none. That little chain inside the throttle grip just
doesnt seem to hold. Is that the cup you speak of, or the one where it
goes into the carbs?

Your welcome. Always glad to help a fellow Guzz enthusiest. You can
squeeze the cup the cable end fits into to hold it in. The original
throttle cable had an adjuster built into the cable. Not sure if the MG
Cycle ones have this as it's been a long time since I ordered a single
cable for the throttle.

 After almost 3 months of tearing this old girl down, and putting her
back together with new paint and parts, she lit up yesterday! I had just

the header pipes on and she sounded off like a cannon! I never knew
these bikes could roar like that! Other than rattling some loose stuff
in the garage and setting off my car alarm, it sounded goregeous. Made
me real proud and seeemed to wipe away the last couple months of
frustration! My daughter was in the tub at the time, and she came out a
bit later and said " Dad, that wasn't your BMW, was it?". Said she liked

the sound of the Guzzi better than my 04 BMW with loud pipes. Had to
really agree with her, (just don't tell the boys on the BMW site, it's
fine machine but that Boxer just doesn't have the deep growl of a big
twin). all in all, I found the bike more simple than others, once I
learned the quirks and strange engineering those Italians put in them.

Now it's just the wiring harness, and the cables. Replace the brake
shoes and rear tire. But she will be on the road by next weekend and I
cannot wait!

Special thanks to Paul Linn who saw the bike when she was in her
original beat up state, and told me then I had my work cut out for me.
He has been an incredible help with his patience and knowledge and the
entire project would been much more difficult without his answering
dozens of emails and phone calls. I truly appreciate the help and
patience Paul. Now Bellarosa, or "Rosa" is screaming to get back on the
road! I am sure there will still be more questions as I set up the carbs

and start finding all the fun stuff one finds when they hit the road
after a project like this. And thanks to all who responded to my emails
and postings here as well, I am glad to be part of such a supportive and

helpful group of guys like you all.

MG Cycle has been a great asset as well, everything they send gets to me

in 1 day and they have also been patient with my newbie to Guzzi
questions.

I have a question however with the throttle. The dang cable keeps
falling out of the chain holder inside the grip. Nothing appears to be
holding it except a small casing at the end of the chain. I am also
wondering how to take up the slack, other than the screws on the end of
the 2 -1 coupler. Seems a bit sloppy, the whole setup. Any info on how
to better keep these cables tighter would be nice, especially when the
cable slips out of the carb and sticks on the side of the housing when I

rev it sometimes. New cables alla round too. They almost seem a bit
longer than necessary, but I trust MG enough to send me the proper
parts.
