Hi Don,

Welcome to the list. Great to have the resources of this list available to
you eh?

The front engine bolt should come off easily enough. Just support the engine
from underneath (I use a use one of those small hydraulic jacks) to take the
load off of the bolt and drive it out with a dowel. Be careful not to hit
the threads of the bolt or you will damage them.

I had the seal replaced by a shop once....pretty easy job but don't forget
to put oil back into the case.....the shop guy forgot and he seized my
engine. I'll bet he never does that again :-)

By the way Don, Send me the year of your bike and the serial number and
where you are located. We are creating a database of all the loopframes out
there. Only if you want to of course.

Good luck with the job.....Ian

Hi, just discovered the loopframe list (thanks Michael), and wanted
to say hello, and look forward to good info/conversation. I'm
currently trying to get the large front bolt off to repair a leaky seal
behind the timing cover. I look forward to hearing about your
experiences. Later,

Don ivey
