In reply to: The bike rides much better, and has a lot more power than

If yoy read one of Greg Fields books, i.e., "Moto Guzzi Big Twins", he
mentions this. The Ambos and Eldos have a ton of torque, and in all of
the cycle tests, they would wheelie in 1st and 2nd and chirp the tire in
3rd. My mechanic got a tast of that after he got my 71 LAPD Ambo all
tuned up, also has high compression like yours. He took off out of the
parking lot, and he cracked the throttle when he popped it in 2nd, and
up she went, scared the s--t out of him!! Said he was not expecting
that!

I has the erratic tach. Check and cleaned the points. Spot on at
.016. Tach wires were reversed, however. Tach is much better, but
still
seems underdamed when changing engine speed. Holds steady when at
constant speed but wanders when speed is changing. Is this normal?

Installed my homebuilt turnsignal switch. Looks and works fine. The
bike
rides much better, and has a lot more power than originally. Kinda
pulls
you back with the second gar roll on. Feel like it'd like to wheely. I
