Todd, My first Guzzi lusting was the first time I saw/heard a new Lemans
l with open megaphones, come thundering up to the local sportbike hangout in
about '79. Now at age 46 I had gotten over my earlier sportbike leanings but
still loved all forms of Guzzis. The Ambo/Eldos were the ones that get me
going now though. So I bought my wife a new car and informed her we were
buying another bike. No, we weren't going to sell any didn't go over real
well but she got used to the idea. I spent over a year tracking down any
local leads that turned up nothing but junk or high priced restorations. I
was not going to buy a bike unseen and unriden which put a lot of bikes I
would have loved out of the question. So when I finally found one that was at
the low-end of my expectations but solid I moved quickly. Looking back I
think I remember having buyers remorse (mainly due to the fact it was not the
'exact' bike I had spent a year looking for) for about 3 1/2 hours. This was
the time my Ambo spent in the back of the truck on the way home. It was all
gone when I unloaded it, fired it up and rode it 5 miles (with the
unavoidable smile on my face) over to my brother's (the Harley addict) house
who after examining it for a while proclaimed 'Cool!'.

Peter makes a good point though......with a newbie
(read: moron) like myself, there is a price of
admission to the Loopframe world which
I am glad to pay. I have thought about Moto
Guzzi's for 30 years and never acted on getting
one. Why? I haven't figured it out yet. But, on
the verge of my 50th B-Day, I finally decided
to quit thinking about it and just do it. Maybe
because my time is limited and these (loopframes)
have always had a hold on me. If I get screwed
on this deal, well so be it. But from all aspects
so far, this seems to be the right decision.
Hell, has anyone made a bad decision buying
a Loopframe....HA! I don't think so......

Todd
