Watch out when having your shoes relined and have them rivet the linings to
the shoes if possible. I had mine re-lined by a reputable brake supply
house, and on my way to a guzzi rally 200 miles from home the linings came
un-guled from the shoes, locking up my rear wheel ! I removed the shoes
and spent the weekend running with only a front brake.

Hi Ian,
Tryhttp://vintagebrake.serversmiths.com/
I haven't had any experience with them, but several members of the MGCL
speak
highly of them. Moto International also offers the linings (Ferodo I think)
that you have a brake shop bond to your shoes. Might check with MG Cycle
also, they seem to have just about everything else! Cheers, Charlie

Hi All,

A friend of mine owns a V700 and he wants to put on softer pads on his
brakes. Any recommendations as to the type of material that is the best?

Also....what is the advantage/disadvantage and cost difference buying new
brakes as opposed to having the brakes relined?

I appreciate the replies.

Regards...Ian
