I had this happen to me when I noticed that my generator belt had too =
much
slack in it and was slipping on the pulley. As I remember it when the =
belt
finally broke on the road, the light stayed on until I replaced the =
belt. On
a separate note, does anyone know of the correct settings for the =
Mixture
screws and the throttle slide screws on the VHB carbs. They were apart =
when
I got them and I need to set them up initially until I can adjust.

Thanks, Ed

Back to electrical demons here. The Gen light on my speedo lights up =

 with the key on, then gets dim but does not go off when the bike is=20
started and run. I checked the schematic and see that the red wire=20
coming from the generator is the wire that drives this light. The =
wire=20
 goes into the gen, so I'm not going to bother checking it at that =
end. =20
 I plan to make sure the light is seated properly in the speedo assy =
so=20
 it is getting a good ground, and also will put a meter on the battery =

 terminals to make sure the battery is being charged as the engine is=20
revved. Other than these 2 checks, is there anything else I can =
check=20
 to see why the gen warning light does not go off? This seems to be a =

 fallout of having the bike dismantled for service (engine/trans out), =

 didn't have this problem before.
=20
Appreciate any advice.
=20
Thanx!
