Tim,
no problem using Heli-coils there, in fact, probablly make it stronger.
There is an update with that. Something with longer bolts, maybe.
tell ya what my pal did though, he cut bolts to the right length to make
to stud. Locktited the studs into the case and finshed it off with nylock
nuts. Seems pretty tough.

my e-mail has been down for awhile, so this may have been answered, but
I lost anything I had.

Previous owner broke off the generator mounting bolts. They are out
finally after mucho penetrating oil, heat, sweat, blood and choice words.

Anything wrong with using a Heli coil to fix the stripped out threads?
If not, should I go back to mounting the generator with bolts, or is there
another fix that is better. I understand this is not one of the strong
points of Guzzi design.

Thanks,
Tim
