So anyone know a good place to plant my head in the portland, OR vicinity?
I'm hooking up with some folks in redmond, OR (near grass valley OR, is this
the same grass valley folks are jawing about?)
I'm thinking I'll do the Thursday night ride to Portland. I can leave as
late as 8 pm (it pretty much has to be before 3 or after 7 ot half the &^%$
trip is in commuter hell) and hit P-land before midnight.
it is then another 146 miles to redmond. or 4+ hours. If I were some sort of
he-man, I'd ride through the night (leav at 8 pm and arrive at 5 AM)as I
have done in the past.
But I am not so disillusioned, or young, as to think I can do that after not
having done a trip of any appreciable lenght in the past couple years.
SO I will simply set my goal to slab it to P-land and head out toward
redmond, while looking for a good place to snooze through the wee hours.
so let me know if you know of any good spots.
good thing I painted it green. easier to hide in the bushes.
according to my mileage, it's about 2.5 tanks from seattle to redmond. the
last stretch is one tank. so I keep thinking....
nah I won't
