Choppaman has the proper technique for gettin those casing looking like
chrome.

If you want a softer mirrorlike finish, the lazy man's method is to go to
the grocery store, buy some Scotch brite green scrubbies, and attack the
nasty aluminum. Scrub away, just like your wife had burned the tomato soup
in a pan. Get it looking nice and clean and bright. At this point it is
no where near mirror like, and you are cursing your gullibility.

Finish off with Autosol. It is truely amazing how nice it will look.

This can be done with the parts on the bike and involves mostly elbow
grease.
