Mine is the aluminum crush washer. Maybe I should replace
them since the name "crush" means they are flattened the
first time you put them on. I was very careful with the
o-rings and didn't forget any. Of course that doesn't
mean I didn't get a bum o-ring. Never replaced the ones
on the oil feed line...don't see any leakage from there,
but it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Thanks for the ideas.

Yes, I remembered to put in the head bolt
cover plug thingy.

Which style "thingy" do you have. The early Eldo version
was a hex bolt head
with an aluminum crush washer below. The later version
was a 10mm allen
socket head with an o-ring underneath. The o-rings were
notorious for
hardening and cracking with heat and age. Only good for
2 or 3 removal
cycles at best. Common leak source. The older aluminum
crush washer was
usually pretty good.

How about the aluminum crush washers on your oil feed
line? Good condition?

Is it possible you forgot or damaged an o-ring under the
rocker arm carrier
frame?
