i probably am looking at the same diagram. it's in the premier manual.

don't think it's incorrect though re: tacho. that's how mines wired & it
works. well it used to, tacho head unit went tits up after being left in
garage unused last winter.

You must be looking at the same (incorrect) wiring diagram I have. If
you look at the civilian Eldo diagram in the old service manual, it's
the same as that of the Ambassador, and has no turn signals or front
brake light switch. I don't think an accurate diagram exists for the
Eldo.

according to my diagram there is black wire, as you say from the contact
breakers. there is also a blue black wire from + side of coil which is a
live feed switched from the ignition switch. there is also an earth.

ps. it can be hard to work out which way round wires go on tacho. there
will
have been coloured paint blobs on underneath once, but they will
probably be
gone now. best i can say is , bike won't start if connections reversed.

I know that one black wire leads directly from the distributor stud to
one of the male terminals on the back of the tach (don't know which
one). What connects to the other male terminal? The wiring diagram
(which is NOT for a civilian Eldo) shows a blue/black wire from the
plus

low tension side of the coil, but I think there is actually a blue
wire

from the charge idiot light that connects to the tach.

TIA!
