Andy,

Yes, the cop style bars require the cop style cable, which is
significantly longer (4 to 6", I think) than the civvy counterpart. The
eldo cop cable will be way too long, due to the lever arm for the clutch
being on the right side of the bike instead of on the left, like the
Ambo. Also, the transmission end of the cable will be too large if it is
for the Eldo, the Ambos had a different sized end fitting on them.
