Thanks for the reply, Karl... a 'long' bolt may be my problem. I can't
remove the bolt that's in there because it butts up aginst the back of
the oil pump gear.. hope I'm using the right bolts to try and put this
thing on... because you mentioned cam gear?

It has been a while since I did mine but I do not recall having any
problems. If I remember right the one bolt that went behind the cam gear
was tight but after playing with it some it went in. Tightening it was a
little tricky. I ended up using some super loc-tite and used a 90 degree
open end wrench I got it the best I could. You might try using a shorter
bolt.

For those of you that were able to take a short cut.. as in, putting on
the Valtek without removing the sprockets.. on my Eldo, when trying to
remove the bottom-most bolt used to secure the Valtek bracket... well,
the bolt head doesn't seem to clear the gear... was there a trick to it
that I can't see.. or must I just break down, quit screwing around, and
remove the chain/sprockets.. I wasn't really looking forward to it.. but
if I must, I must. Reading Steve Ford's description... it sounds like I
could be in a little over my head.... but it's too late now, 'cause the
old tensioner's off... Any last words of wisdom? Bill
