Changed the fork oil but didn't get a chance to take her for a ride yet
as it started raining. What I did notice is that there is about an inch
more chrome visible on the fork legs now with the spacers. When the
fluid was draining, I stood on the floorboards (bike on center stand)
and pushed down on the bars to work the fluid down and out, and when
pulling back up on the bars, I was topping out and getting the bang
noise I hear when I am riding. I'm hoping the light weight oil, the
weight of the bike when off of the center stand, and my weight will sit
her down enough so I don't get excessive rebound and top out again. If
not, looks like fork disassembly to either get rid of the spacers or cut
them in 1/2. Can anyone tell me how to get to those spacers?

Thanx.

Bought 7 weight fork oil yesterday, will change fork oil soon. Has
anyone noticed a difference in dampning with different weight oils?
Should I remove the spacers from the fork springs? If yes, how do I get

to the springs?

Hi Keith
pls keep me posted on your experience.
I have stock springs and no inserts. When I got the bike a few years
ago,
the front end bottomed out, I thought too easily.
I put in what I thought was heavier weight oil to dampen it out more.
I
didnt notice any change.
I put in 20W-50 motor oil thinking that I was getting the 50 weight but
someone from the list pointed out that since the oil is always cool it
will
act like 20W not 50W . I have not gone back and changed anything.

Good Luck
