Yah hey dare Loopers,
The 74 LAPD engine is going back together (whoooo haaaaw). Today's
dilemma is associated with the oil pump nut. It appears to have wandered
off and nut'n I can find appears to fit. (part # 92 70 1086 item #33 in
the hymnal).
What size / thread is that #$%^& nut? My caliper says it's 5/16. Looks
like a 8mm. Is it possible that it's SAE? I tried all (both) of my dies
(8mm 1.0 and 8mm 1.25 I think) and they don't fit right (I don't want to
cut the threads).
Can anyone help me out here? Sure would appreciate it.
