Keith, I have clear in-line fuel filters on my Ambo,
below the cross-over. (No need to remove the
crossover, btw.) I do not have clear fule line, so I
can't see what is going on further up hill, but when I
open my petcock the filters fill up most of the way,
but not completely. I think the air bubble in the fuel
lines cannot pass through the screens in the petcocks.
It hasn't caused any problems for me - the fuel flows
around the air just fine.

In regards to the two questions that you posed
(below), I would guess that the answer to both is yes.
