Dave-
thanks! the bike is my cousin's [he just bought it, somewhere, and dig
this- it shows 3200mi. on the clock!] it needs carbs [missing] exhaust
system [rotted pipes, missing muffs] front calipers [missing] and side
covers. from the teltale signs, i believe the mileage to be accurate.
any help will be gratefully accepted. thanks again,
andy

 Andy,
R-80 is one of the best Beemers built. I think the 80 engine is the
smoothest, and that's saying a lot. I'm not sure about the throttle, the
BMW used a chain and gear thing inside the throttle. The calipers on a
BMW depend on the year, you are probably bre-Brembo. R90S BMWs came with
a dellorto, but the Bings on the Beemer are good carbs and very
rebuildable. If you have the bike, I have some parts, have to dig
around. Also have some good dealers names, etc. let me know.

 hi!
does anyone know if a tommasselli throttle assy. will work on a /7 bmw?
are
the brake calipers the same as any that guzzi uses? and lastly, do ya
think
dellorto carbs would work in place of the missing bings?
nope- not heresy- i believe a few guzzi parts would improve the thing!
;>)
[cheaper, too!]
neat bike ['81 r-80rt], but someone left it outside for a loooong
time,

 and pirated parts, too.
thanks,
andy
