I respectfully disagree with this assessment.

I always add some tranny juice in the boot. I recently disassembled the
rear after 3.5 years and 71,000 miles. U-joint was perfect, as was the
carrier, except that it was now a loose fit on the u-joint shaft.

If that oil can get into the u-joint, you have a seal failure, in which
case centrifugal forces will sling the grease out and the bearing is
doomed anyway.

failure. Usually the bearing will be OK with repacking but the joint
is another story. Even so I saw that Paul Kubon had the parts to
rebuild a U-joint.
