good to see a lively discussion. I happen to fall into
"it's timed on one cylinder!!!!dammit..." camp...
because... there is only one point to fire both
cylinders...period. Adjust that point and you are
effecting BOTH cylinders...period. QED
maybe that's why they went to two points with later
models....to give the fussy ones something to do? hah,
so there, take that~! ;)
but then again I tune mine by calling Father Tom B,
who comes over for a cold one and since he has been
riding these things since 67, finishes the timing and
carb adjust all in the span of 15 minutes, then closes
the sermon with "Do Not Touch, amen"....10k miles
later I'll call him again...got to keep The Ancients
busy, ya know?
