Charlie,
My brother-in-law does quite a bit of international shipping for North
American Van Lines, I remembered him talking about doing a fair bit of
motorcycle shipping so I asked him about it. Here is his response:

Regarding motorcycle shipping, I have recently shipped Harley's to
 various spots around the world

it can be done, what is needed are:

Clean original title, can't leave the country without it

It needs to be packed in a crate, fuel has to be drained from it, >and
battery disconnected and removed.

 Costs involved (approximates)

 Pick up and crating: $ 900.00 - $ 1,500 (dpending on where it >needs
to be picked up, how big etc.)
freight: $1,000 - $ 2,500 (depending on how far inland, air or
 ocean freight etc.)

For example: Harley Davidson to Johannesburg South Africa, >including
pick up at residence, crating and air freight ran about
$3,200.00

still interested? Have him give me a call (cell is probably best >right
now (704) 236-9920

This is not meant to be an advertisement, consider it one of many
possibilities. Good Luck!

Hi All,
A buddy of mine needs to ship a bike from the Baltimore, MD area to
Spain. Anyone done this and can recommend a shipper and give him an idea
of what's involved? What sort of paperwork is he going to have to go
through, etc.

FWIW, the bike is a BMS, made in Spain around 1958 and is apparently
very rare but not very valuable. Thanks in advance!

Charlie.
