OK...Time to get off the pot and do something. Old South Dakota saying,
meaning chamber pot, toilet, outhouse, etc. Yes, we still have
outhouses around here.

My name is Randy Wilson, and yes, I'm from SD. Been hanging around this list
lurking for about 18 months or so, just haven't had anything to say till
now.

I plan on making my way to the 2004 rally to meet all of you that can make
it, after all, its only about 350 miles to Palmer Gulch. As with most east
river natives, we always seem to find time to vacation (holiday to Ian) in
the Black Hills.
SD best riding roads are located there. If you have never been to the
Hills, you should make it at least once. After all 500,000 Harley riders
can't be wrong, can they? (Sorry, Sturgis ya know!)

If your loopin in from the east coast there are a few nice, barely traveled
roads to get you west river. I-90 is the most convenient, but it also is a
much traveled truck/RV route which makes many miles of it very rough.

The Hills is very rich in history, from mining to cowboys and indians.
Many fire trails give you free access to hidden prairie meadows, valleys and
streams. If you happen to enjoy trail riding, (dirt bikes) just about all of
the natl. forest area, and the bad lands are open to riding.

There are many other touristy things about the Hills and west river SD.
Just ask.

Ok, now for the good stuff. Ian, this is for your list. I've had the same
loop for about 22 yrs now, although it hasn't ran since summer of '96. This
is one of my winter projects. It is a 1967 V700, engine#1142, frame
#1217, located near Crooks, SD. I am in need of an early LH sidecover and
hold down knobs, bolts or fasteners for both sides. I have a pair of late
Ambo/Eldo covers and 1 pass. seat hand hold to negoiate a trade with. Also a
bad order marelli starter and generator.

This is it for now, any questions I'm listening. Randy

This is the rally info for the 2003 rally. They mention the 2004 rally a
little further down on the web page. The 2004 rally dates are the 24-27 of
June 2004.

I am going to call and see about renting cabins. I will reserve a few if
the
cancellation period is such that I can get out within a decent amount of
time. I did that with a Grand Canyon hike. Worked out well....I reserved
almost a year in advance and had a 48 hour cancellation (with 100%
return!).

As silly as this sounds.....I am already looking forward to this rally.
The
only problem is that I will miss a good friend's 80th that same weekend.
He'll understand :-)

Why does it say '2003'?
