Been into motorcycles pretty much all my life, owned a couple of custom bike
shops over the years and mainly specialized in HD and Triumph.
Quite a few years ago I happened across a article in a cycle magazine
featuring Fred Marsh, the renowned Indian and Guzzi dealer from the
northeast...the writer of the article wanted to talk Indian but Fred wanted
to talk Guzzi! That got my attention as I had not ever noticed them
before.....then about 10 years ago I was at buddys bike shop and a guy
pulled up on a ratty Loopframe, I have no idea what it was other than that
because I didn't know anything about them. After the guy left I told my
friend that "I gotta have one!" Well my friend remembered what I'd said and
a few months later let me know that he had a rough 1974(titled as a 1975)
Moto Guzzi LAPD Eldorado in his shop with my name on it...:-)...I took that
old bike home and got it running and then tore it down to start a redo, in
the meantime I ran across a 1971 Ambassador that was up and running already
so I bought it too......then I found another Amb and...well you get the
picture....
That first Eldo is now in David Washburn's capable hands(he got it in
pieces) as his Eldo/Sp1000, that first Ambassador belongs now to friend in
Arkansas and as Charlie mentioned, he got the other Ambassador....it's been
my pleasure to have sold bikes and parts to a lot of you, hope you all feel
the same.....
