Hi Steven,
The key words here are "new pistons" - the only way I'd do sleeves would
be if the Gilardoni kits were discontinued forever and I had either
new/N.O.S. or perfect (no wear in the ring grooves, or on the skirts,
etc.) original pistons. Then you'll need rings compatible with the
sleeve material along with the pins and clips the kits supply. If you
can find a machinist capable of installing the sleeves and sizing them
correctly consider yourself lucky. Still, the Nikasil will wear longer
(100,000 miles plus is common) and seal better (less blow-by means fewer
contaminants in the oil and less engine wear overall). In the end the
kits are really a bargain in my opinion. Cheers,

Charlie

My freind got some sleeves put in and in the end it turned out to be way

over half the price of a Nikasil kit.

With the nikasil kit you get away with new pistons rings and all.

Any comments, I'm starting a 71 ambo restore in January
