Did either of you replace the headlight or headlight connector?

I did when I first started riding my Eldo as the original fell to pieces. What I didn't know, was that the automotive style connector I replaced it with was pushing into the fusebox.
I had no troubles until several weeks (or months, it's been a long time) my coil power wire went up in smoke. (Imagine smoke coming from under the gas tank...YIKES)
When I took the headlight out to look at what had occurred, I saw that several of the connections to the fuse block had melted slightly. Then I noticed the connector and wires pushing against the fuses. I think that the headlight wire shorted against the primary coil wire and heated things up.

I have been looking for a 3prong connecter that is flat and had the wires coming out at 90 degrees, but haven't found one yet. (Haven't been looking real hard)

Also, make sure the connections to the fusebox are clean.

Later,
Matt in MI
